This Weekend in NYC: Sports Take Center Stage

This is going to be the perfect weekend for a double decker bus tour with beautiful weather!  In between tours lots of sports are being played this weekend, and New York is a city that will be featured in prime time.  This weekend, you should be thankful that NYC is such a great sports town.

A view from the old stadium

Subway Series

The city is split in two.  It’s the Yankees or it’s the Mets.  There’s no in between.  It’s the 4 train, the 7 train.  It’s the Bronx, Queens.  New York’s two premiere baseball teams will face off at Yankee Stadium three times this weekend, and only one team will have bragging rights come Monday.  So, who ya got?

Belmont Stakes

Shoot on over to Long Island and catch the third leg of the Triple Crown this Saturday.  I’ll Have Another will put it all on the line and try to become the first horse to complete the Triple Crown in over 30 years.  Will he be able to do it? Stop by Belmont Park to find out! (UPDATE: I’ll Have Another has scratched for the Stakes, kind of killing the excitement.  It’s still a fun day, so check it out)

Euro 2012

Europe is in a frenzy right now for the world’s most prestigious soccer tournament not named the World Cup, and you should take part.  No, you can’t watch any of the games in person if you’re here in New York, but that won’t stop some bars from acting like the games are being played at Giants Stadium.  Check out Football Factory at Legends, one of the best soccer bars in Manhattan.
