Spot the Bus: Air Supply!

Air Supply is the newest member of the Ride of Fame, and their inaugural IIi double-decker bus is riding around New York City every day.

This is the Air Supply ROF bus that you need to find!

If you see Air Supply’s bus driving around NYC, snap a picture of it and share it with us.  Post it on our facebook page or tag it on twitter with the hashtag #SpotTheBus and if you’re the first person to share the picture with us, you will win the autographed DVD below!

Photo must be taken on or after 10/19/2012. The winner must be the person who spotted the bus.  Submitting somebody else’s photo leaves you subject to disqualification.

Do a Good Deed, Win a Free Bus Tour

Are you a blogger who’s going to be in New York City between August 1st and 5th?  Do you want to see the city from atop a double-decker bus?  If you answered yes to both of these questions, pay attention.

Madame Deals approached us recently with an idea that we couldn’t resist.  Let’s get bloggers–people who have a strong influence in their online communities–to do some good.  If we can pull together a bunch of bloggers doing good deeds, and have their readers start doing good deeds, this world will be a better place.  This is all part of the Madame Deals Pay it Forward initiative that encourages people to get out there and do good, and frankly, we’ve been inspired to help out.

So this is what’s happening:

  • We’re giving away 50 double-decker bus tours between August 1st and 5th, when the BlogHer 2012 convention is in town.  (You do not have to go to BlogHer to win a ticket; you just need to be in NYC during this time.)
  • In order to get your hands on one of these tickets, you have to do a good deed.  It can be big, it can be small, but what matters is that you affect the world in a positive way.
  • Once you do this good deed, tweet about it, post it on Facebook, blog about it, tell everybody! It’s like that Liberty Mutual commercial where one good deed inspires another; share your compassion and others will follow suit.  Use the hash tag #PayItForwardExpress and tag @GrayLineNewYork and @madamedeals so we can help spread the word.
  • Make sure you submit an official entry on MadameDeals.com.  This is where you will also find the official rules and regulations of the contest.

We are so excited to be helping Madame Deals in her effort to make this world a better place, one good deed at a time.

Shakespeare in the Park 2012 Season

Ah, it’s really here.  Memorial Day has come and passed, Times Square is filling up and standing on a subway platform is worse than sitting in a sauna with a ski jacket on.  It’s summertime in New York City.

Well, almost summertime.  I don’t think it’s fair to say that summer is here until Shakespeare takes to Central Park again, and we’re only days away now.  That’s right, Shakespeare in the Park is returning for its 50th year at the Delacorte Theater on Tuesday.

The first show, which will run June 5-30, is William Shakespeare’s As You Like It, directed by Daniel Sullivan.  The second show, which has been widely anticipated due to its high profile cast, is Stephen Sondheim’s, Into The Woods.  Amy Adams and Donna Murphy headline this show that is rumored to be eyeing a spot on Broadway come summer’s end.  Into The Woods will run from July 23 – August 25.

If you didn’t already know, the best part about Shakespeare in the Park is that it’s free (Awesome ! ).  Tickets are given out at 1 p.m. at the theater the day of the show.  There isn’t much better than seeing Shakespeare in an open air theater, but seeing it for free is the icing on the cake.

This summer, if you plan on catching a show in the park (or any show for that matter), tell us how it is.  We hope to make it out there to catch a show ourselves, but we’d love to hear your opinions.  Drop us a line at klawless@twinamerica.com and we may publish you thoughts!
