If it seems like there is a new festival going on every weekend, it’s because you’re right. New Yorkers love their festivals, and usually for good reason. This weekend is no different, and here we’re featuring 3 of the best festivals you’ll find in the city.
This weekend is the New York Photo Festival. The festival actually began on Wednesday, but has plenty more events and exhibits lasting through Sunday. All of the exhibition sites are free to enter, but tickets are required to most presentations and receptions. Even still, tickets are only $15 if you get them in advance or $20 at the door. The festival will be in DUMBO with many of the exhibitions taking place at The Powerhouse Arena.
Head over to Hell’s Kitchen for some international cuisine that will blow your mind. There will be merchants, music, dancing and of course, tons of food! The best part is that there is no charge for entry to the festival. On Saturday and Sunday, swing down to 9th Ave for 15 blocks of fun.
This year’s Brooklyn Folk Festival is featuring a lineup of over 30 bands and will last Friday through Sunday. Tickets for the Downtown Brooklyn event are only $20 for a day or $45 for the whole weekend. Here are some sounds from last year’s event:
